Performance, Evaluation and Monitoring of Serology (PEMS) Team

The PEMS team is responsible for assuring the quality of HIV, HBV, HCV and HTLV testing for Australian laboratories and for conducting the Quality Control and External Quality Assessment Schemesfor the South-east Asian and Western Pacific regions. These latter programmes are conducted on behalf of the World Health Organization. The PEMS team maintains the NRL's database; collects, analyzes and collates data; and produces the corresponding reports. The core areas are Test Kit Performance Evaluation, Serology Specificity Monitoring, Serology Screening Information, Quality Control, and External Quality Assessment Schemes.
