Kathy has completed a Bachelor of Science degree with majors in Microbiology and Genetics, an Honours degree in Microbiology and a Master of Education at the University of Melbourne.

In 2001, Kathy joined the NRL as a member of the Performance, Evaluation and Monitoring of Serology (PEMS) team. She is a coordinator of NRL Serology External Quality Assessment Schemes (EQAS) and coordinates the PRISM QC reports.

She enjoys reading, listening to music, going to the movies.
