Lena has completed a Bachelor of Science degree with majors in Microbiology and Genetics.

Before joining the NRL, Lena worked at Gribbles Pathology for five years as a Laboratory technician and a medicial Scientist within the Serology Department, working extensively with veterinary serology.

In 2002, Lena joined the NRL as a Scientist within the Tertiary Reference testing team. Her responsibilities include confirmatory testing, evaluation testing, Quality Control (QC) and External Quality Assessment Schemes (EQAS) production and shipping.

In 2007, Lena became TRT Team Leader co-ordinating all functions for confirmatory testing, both serological and molecular, test kit evaluations, and Quality Control (QC) and External Quality Assessment Schemes (EQAS) production.

Lena enjoys going to the gym, reading novels and socializing with friends.
