Research Team
The role of the NRL research team is in identifying and developing new prognostic markers to provide more accurate and earlier information on likelihood of disease progression for important blood borne viral diseases such as HIV and HCV.
In addition to these studies viral pathogenesis markers associated with preventing disease progression are assessed for well characterized clinical cohorts. This means a key involvement in clinical studies, vaccine trials and monitoring the evolution or development of these important blood borne viral diseases in Australia and neighbouring developing countries.
In these research studies we support the mentoring of post-graduate students from Melbourne, Monash, RMIT and Deakin Universities.
