Thu-Anh graduated from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Applied Science (Medical Laboratory Science) in 2000, majoring in Medical Microbiology and Molecular Biology. She began her career in the Microbiology Department of St. Vincent's Hospital, Melbourne where she gained knowledge in diagnostic bacteriology and serology. During her 5 years at St. Vincent's, she developed a keen interest in serology (particularly EBV) and molecular biology, and completed her Masters in Applied Science in 2005, with a focus on real-time PCR technology.

Thu-Anh came to the NRL at the end of 2004 to join the TRT team as a scientist. In May 2005, she joined the PEMS team and took on the role of Nucleic Acid Testing (NAT) Quality Assurance Coordinator where she is responsible for the NAT External Quality Assessment Schemes (EQAS) and Quality Control (QC) programmes.

In 2007, Thu-Anh became PEMS Team Leader and as such co-ordinates all functions for the Performance, Evaluation and Monitoring of Serology Team. Thu-Anh also plays an integral part in development of EDCNet and DigitalPT.

Outside work, Thu-Anh enjoys dancing, playing the piano and is an uncontrolled chocoholic.
