Cathy graduated from La Trobe University with a Bachelor of Science majoring in Genetics and Microbiolology.

Cathy has had over 15 years experience as a medical laboratory scientist, working predominately in the Serology departments at Gribbles Pathology, Melbourne Pathology and Dorevitch Pathology. During this time she was responsible for the daily operation and the training of other staff members in the molecular biology area. Recently, Cathy has been working in Technical Support for a distributor of diagnostic products to pathology laboratories. In this role she has worked closely with laboratory staff in troubleshooting assay and laboratory issues.

Cathy joined the NRL in 2008 as the Nucleic Acid Testing (NAT) Quality Assurance Coordinator.

Cathy enjoys discovering new restaurants, design and films.
